Seven years backend, mostly Node. I work on the hard middle of systems — event-driven routing over Kafka, idempotent transactions and billing, protocol-level networking. Most recently that meant building a carrier-grade SMS routing and billing platform over SMPP from scratch, running around a million messages a month in production.

Hey! I'm Denish, a backend engineer based in Gujarat, India. Seven years in — mostly Node and Express, with PostgreSQL, Kafka and Redis underneath. Most of that time on systems that move messages and money.
The work I enjoy is the work where the failure modes are interesting — a retry that must not double-charge, vendor callbacks that arrive out of order or never arrive at all, a routing decision that has to be cheap and correct at the same time. Most of what I've built lives in that space: message routing, billing and ledgers, event-driven pipelines, and systems that talk to hardware or carriers over protocols that don't forgive much.
Outside the office, I channel my creativity through art. On some holidays, you'll find me making digital portraits or funny cartoons. Also, I enjoy watching animated movies and listening to old rock & pop music (like Queen, Aerosmith, Linkin Park, etc.).

Backend across the company's client products. Built a custom webhook automation platform that replaced the client's Make.com stack, then spent ~2.5 years building a carrier-grade SMS routing and billing platform over SMPP from scratch — an in-house alternative to a licensed commercial routing platform, with SMSC + ESME, a Kafka routing core, least-cost routing and a serverless billing engine. Also backend for a coaching and media-library platform, and mentoring the junior developers on the team. Currently on a new client product.
Owned the backend for a multi-tenant e-scooter sharing platform serving 15+ operators — MQTT device control, geofencing, dynamic pricing and the fare engine. Drove it from requirements through deployment.
Frontend engineer on the analytics experience — built React and Redux dashboards for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Google My Business, and led the migration of legacy PHP screens to React.
